Open-Ended Probes & Questions


Another important concept to remember when engaging your child/student in a conversation is to use open-ended questions.  Building Bridges  with Open Ended Questions is a document that can help you reframe your conversations!  Using open-ended questions encourages the child/student to answer in more detail, instead of simply answering with a short “nope” or “yup,” or the typical ” I dunno…”    The attached list is just a simple sheet to help you start working on adjusting your questions from a disengaged shoulder shrug, to an engaged response because you are showing you are sincerely interested.
